Review: KM Player for Windows

Are you looking for a media player that is easy to use and is feature-filled? Then you don’t have to look beyond the KM Player for Windows. From the days of downloading codecs and figuring out which media player to use, to the days of KM Player, we indeed have come a long way.  For a fresh alternative to Media Player Classic or Winamp; KM player gives you the best of simple and an easy-to-use functional interface.

KM Player can play just about any format you manage to have – mp4, m4v, m4a, flv to name a few. You don’t have to worry about using too much memory or disk space. There are many AV filters and playback options than you can count on. You need not download codecs to play video files; it has all the codecs you can think of, built into it. Believe it or not, it can actually play damaged AVI files! And one thing you can thank for, if not the features, is that it doesn’t pop up advertisements for up-gradation every other minute.

Let’s install our KM Player to check if it really is the ultimate media player out there. Installing KMP is in fact hassle free. Since it is available for free and doesn’t require codecs to be downloaded, even a non-techie can do it without issues. To play songs or videos, all you need to do is drag and drop the files from anywhere on your computer to the app’s window. Or you could even select playlists from KM Player’s library.

Our KM Player comes with a dark theme (by default) and a simple design. Don’t like the way it looks? Change it with the array of themes that are available or apply new skins!

Although KM Player has many features to boast of, a few aspects don’t stand up to the test. There are some icons that are difficult to see. And it is difficult to decipher their purpose by their appearance. With KM Player full on the features front, not having a help menu is a shame. It is somewhat slower than your usual players like VLC, which can prove to be sore point in there. There are few fake versions doing the rounds that you need to be aware of.

When it comes down to the wire, with intelligent improvements to it, KM Player manages to pack in more user-friendly features than the rest.
