Verdict: All in all, I had a pretty good experience using this file recovery program. Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery software successfully recovered more than 3 TB of data from an unrecognized external hard drive. You can build corrupted or failed RAID Arrays and recover data after giving RAID parameters. If the user is not familiar with RAID configuration or is not a professional programmer, this software automatically fills in the required information.
As you can see in the figure below, the Home screen is equipped with all the options from which you can choose any desired option, such as Drive Recovery, CD DVD Recovery, Photo Recovery and RAID Recovery.
Let’s get familiar with the features of this software.
The first tab, placed at the top left corner of the home screen menu, contains four submenus which I would like to explain separately.
The Drive Recovery wizard is intended to recover lost or deleted data as well as the missing or lost hard drive partitions. Click on any partition from which your data was deleted. Then choose from the recovery methods that appear in the right pane, which opens automatically after selecting the desired drive. Once you understand the operations of each method, you will be able to get the desired data back quickly and hassle-free.
Quick Recovery: This wizard will start a standard scan and list existing as well deleted files and folders. This is a fast recovery method. It works well and previews the files in the Windows directory structure.
You can categorize the search using the three tabs in the left window.
Classic Tree: Simply list data currently existing on both the hard drive and deleted drive.
File Type List: List deleted files according to their types in a separate folder.
Filtered Tree: Enter the desired file type extension using a *.* command, such as *.jpg*, *.txt*, etc., to search for any particular deleted files.
Deleted Recovery: Search and recover deleted data from any specific location.
Advance Recovery: It doesn’t matter whether the file system is FAT or NTFS; the software can restore files from both. This option also helps to recover data from a file system that has been changed from FAT to NTFS, or vice versa. Choose the required file system format before pressing the Advance Recovery button.
RAW Recovery: Speedy yet effective method of regaining any specific type of deleted files. RAW recovery performs a signature-based recovery method if the desired file cannot be detected by the Quick Recovery or Deleted Recovery options.
Before using this option, insert any problem optical disc in the CD ROM, after which the software presents options to recover lost or inaccessible data from damaged CD, DVD, HD DVD, Blue Ray Disc, etc.

Recovery from Image:
If you are on-the-go or don’t have enough time to completely scan the hard drive and recover data, simply abort the process and save an image of the scanned data. Taking an image of the complete hard drive data can be beneficial in case of a physical or mechanical hard drive failure.

Create Image: Allows you to choose any specific range hard drive space and create an image. Alternatively, you can create an image of the entire hard drive, which requires similar or more storage space than the image of the drive you are creating. The image file you have created using this software saves in “.imp” format and can be used to recover hard drive data in case of a hard drive failure, virus or malware attack, Windows corruption, etc.
Clone Drive: An efficient way to create an exact replica of an entire disk which can be used to restore lost or damaged files. There should be a source disk to clone and a destination hard disk which will be used to save the cloned data. It is advisable to have a hard drive of equal or greater storage space than the source drive.
Drive Status: An amazing tool that checks the current hard drive status and reports any problems to the administrator, commonly known as S.M.A.R.T (Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology).
