Have you ever wondered to close any or all of the apps you have open in Windows 8? It’s hard to do when there is no ‘close’ button like you may be used to in previous versions of Windows (or the Windows 8 desktop). While open apps do not slow down your computer like having multiple open programs often did in older Windows versions, there are times you may want to close an app or two. Here’s a couple of ways to do it:
How to close open apps from the Windows 8 Start screen:

How to close open apps from the Windows 8 Desktop:
What if you are in the Windows 8 Desktop and want to close some apps? There’s no need to go back to the Start (Tile) screen:
There’s an even quicker way to close or exit an app using just the keyboard. This only works when the app is open. Just press the Windows key + ↓ and the app is exited.
