I used to work as a technical support representative for an Internet service provider and one of the most common issues that customers are complaining about is their new wireless printer not working. One, their computers are wired directly to their modems.
A wireless printer will not be able to communicate with your computer if there is no wireless signal. So if you really want to use a wireless printer, the first thing that you will need is a router. A router will allow you to connect your computer to the Internet wired or wireless (if it has a built-in wireless card). Talk to the computer store technician first about your Internet set up so that you will be advised which device you’ll need to be able to use a wireless printer.
Two, the printer driver is not yet installed into the computer.
A driver allows your computer to communicate with the printer so that it can remotely send documents for printing. Always read the printer manual for the installation steps right after opening the box of your new printer which is wireless. Once the driver is installed successfully, your computer will be able to “see” your printer and you are ready to go.
Three, the printer driver is installed in only one computer.
The printer driver should be installed into every computer in the house so that you can remotely print using any of the computers available. And also, make sure that the computer you are trying to print a document from is within range of the wireless signal.

Therefore, before deciding to call your Internet service provider for possible Internet connection issues because your new wireless printer is not working, browse some websites first. If everything is good with the connection, read the manuals and follow the steps provided.
If every basic troubleshooting was already done but is getting a negative result, call your printer manufacturers technical support and they will be more than happy to assist you to make your printer wireless work.

I myself have a Brother printer that is networked to my wireless router, so I can print wirelessly from my laptop. I have not tried any totally wireless printer, so I cannot recommend any particular brand. One has to consider the costs of refills when selecting a printer as well.
Good article, I use a HP laserjet 1020 hooked up to my PC. I share it out and then I can access it from my laptop over wireless. Good option if you don’t have a wireless printer.
