My Favourite WordPress Plugins
By
I am fairly new to WordPress, but I became a quick learner due to the fact that WordPress does not come with a lot of features that one finds they need over time.Don’t get me wrong, WP v2.9 comes with plenty of features to get the new blogger up and running quickly enough, but if you are going to have a blog that needs a few extra features (such as Google AdSense ads), then the easiest way to go is with plugins, and there appears to be plugins for every possible need you could have.
My WP Dashboard tells me I have 19 active plugins, including Aksimet, which comes with a WP install anyway. So here are the plugins I am currently using:
- Akismet (anti-spam)
- All in One SEO Pack
- Blog Stats by W3Counter
- Fast and Secure Contact Form
- Google XML Sitemaps
- Infolinks Ad Wrap
- Login Lockdown
- Max Banner Ads
- MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer
- Quick Adsense
- Redirection
- ShareThis
- TweetMeme Retweet Button
- Ultimate Google Analytics
- WordPress Database Backup
- WP-CopyRight Pro
- WP Page Numbers
- WP Security Scan
- Yet Another Related Posts Plugin
Most, if not all of these WP plugins can be found at the WordPress.org Plugin Directory: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/
Hopefully this list will help you with choosing what plugins to use on your WP blog. If you know of any other ‘must-have’ plugins, please post a comment about them here.
