Quick Fixes For Windows PC Problems Related To DLL Issues

078 All Windows PCs come fully loaded with several computer applications that help us perform many different types of tasks related to work and entertainment. Many users also download new applications, tools, and other utilities.  All of these applications and certain other factors not only contribute to the burden on our computer’s resources, but also makes them prone to several computer application errors.

One of the common types of issues that often crop up on Windows PCs is DLL issues. These issues are a result of some kind of problem associated with Dynamic Link Library Files or DLL files. These files are an important part of the Windows operating system as well as most of the applications installed on your system. The good news is that despite being a common problem for Windows PCs, these DLL issues can be easily fixed by users.

The first task that you need to perform as soon as a DLL error, such as:

“The file wgalogon.dll is missing”

or

“The file wmp.dll has a version number of 9.0.0.3075 where 9.0.0.2980 was expected. Windows Media Player is not installed properly and must be reinstalled”

appears, is to search for a solution on the Internet. Most of the time, you can easily find a solution to your error message on a reliable online database. When you find it, implement it, to resolve your problems. 

Some of the other tasks that you should perform are:

  • Update the software on your computer to ensure that there are no outdated programs and driver files. For Microsoft-based programs, you can easily do this by selecting the Windows Update command in the Start menu. For drivers, it is best that you use a reliable driver scanner and update tool to do the task for you.
  • Rollback any recent software or update installation or uninstallation task. If this particular action was behind the error, your error should be resolves by undoing it. If it does not, try to perform a System Restore to rollback the system and program files to what they were before you installed or uninstalled the software that generated the error.
  • Perform a thorough and full system scan of your computer with the help of an updated virus and spyware scanner tools. If one or more DLL files are infected with a virus, disinfecting the system using these tools will enable you to fix DLL errors caused by them.
  • Scan the Windows registry with the help of a good registry tool. A good registry tool is designed to thoroughly check the registry for any problems and fix them. This not only helps in restoring the health of the registry, but also optimizes it for better and faster performance. 
  • Use a good PC diagnostics tool to run checks on your computer hardware to ensure that there are no physical problems with any one of them. If any problems are detected, you may have to resolve them in order to get rid of DLL errors.

These are a few simple ways to fix DLL errors. You must perform these PC maintenance tasks on a regular basis to prevent any errors from occurring in the first place.
